Jones County: Steve Allen Wise Sr. passed away Thursday evening, March 2, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at Atrium Navicent Health after a brief illness. A visitation will be Monday, March 6, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Gray Memorial Chapel 4378 Gray Highway, Gray, Georgia 31032. Memorial services will be Tuesday, March 7, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Gray Memorial. The Rev. John Haney will officiate. Internment will follow in Elam Memorial Gardens.

Steve was born on January 1, 1951 to the late Gene Tunney Wise and Betty Hamlin Wise. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Wise and granddaughter Anslee Wise.

He spent his working career in the truck driving industry and retired from Hazel Trucking. His handle was "Bumper Jumper". Steve was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. but, was as devoted to dirt track racing.

Survivors include his wife Terri Wise, sons, Brock (Jennifer) Wise, Steve Wise Jr., and daughter Marcelle (Mike) Womack, grandchildren, Raegan-Jean Williamson, Anna Marie, Emaleigh, William, Weston, and Brockston Wise. Sister, Jackie Hitson, niece, Kim (Jim) Mitchell, nephew, Chad (Heather) Hitson, and Dewayne (Stephanie Boyer) Orton.
