JONES COUNTY: Roland Neel Doles, 70, of Griswoldville Shortcut, died Thursday, August 6, 2020, at a local hospital. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Gray Memorial Chapel in Gray. Funeral services will be held privately at a later date.

Mr. Doles was born September 18, 1949, in Macon and had lived in Jones County most of his life. He was the son of the late J.W. Doles and Evelyn Louise Doke Doles-Adkins. Mr. Doles was a pipefitter, truck driver and well driller during his career and was known for his "Weekend Jam Sessions", waking his family for breakfast to Stevie Ray Vaughn and the like. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Warren Doles, Walter Doles and John "Peanut" Doles and two sisters: Melandy Grace Doles Thompson and Sharon Ann Doles Brown.

Mr. Doles is survived by his wife of twenty-five years: Teresa Doles; children: John Doles, David Doles, Brandi Doles, Christy Fountain (Fred), Jesse Ethridge (Heather) and Josh Ethridge (Logan); ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters: Kay Blalock (Billy) and Deborah Elaine Winn and by multiple cousins, nephews and nieces.
