Obituary for Rhonda Thompson Grimes

JONES COUNTY: Rhonda Grimes, 53, received a call with an offer she could not refuse. The offer came with a huge sign-on bonus of a family reunion with her father: Tommy Thompson. As a former part-time legal secretary and full time Domestic Engineer, her new assignment takes her to a wonderful place where she will be dancing, singing and crocheting in the streets, without sickness and pain.

She leaves behind the love of her life and best friend: Darrell Grimes. The hardest to leave were her sons that brought so much love and laughter to her life: Bin and Brandon; She also leaves behind her mother: Jean Thompson, along with her siblings: Christy Linthicum (Marlin) and Scott Thompson (Jimmy), which stinks, because they are both older than her; her in-laws: Steve and Joyce Grimes, who loved her as their own; her sisters-in-love: Denise Steed (Travis), Kimberly Grimes (Derek) and Shayna Grimes (Doug) and lots and lots on nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends from 11:00am-12:00pm, Wednesday at Gray Memorial Chapel. In honoring her love of a good party with food, fun and fellowship, instead of a "service", a celebration of life is more appropriate. Come celebrate her life 12:00pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Gray Memorial Chapel and Crematory and the family asks that you wear pink in her honor and to honor those who continue to fight breast cancer. Following the service committal services will be held at Henderson-Stripling Cemetery. There is one rule for attending the graveside service, there will be no family car and no "carpooling." If you have a driver's license, you must drive, so we can shut the streets down.

Her family will be devastated, so follow them home to continue the celebration.

She loved flowers, so it is appropriate to send some. However, she asked that you make generous donations to United In Pink, 1515 Bass Road, Suite H, Macon, Georgia 31210.

Gray Memorial Chapel and Crematory is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements for Rhonda Grimes. Please visit our online memorial at www.graymemorialchapel.com.
