JONES COUNTY: Perry Glenn Thomas, 68, of Rebel Drive, died Monday, November 25, 2019, at a local hospital. The family will greet friends 2:00pm-3:00pm, Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Gray Memorial Chapel. Memorial services will follow at 3:00pm, in the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Thomas was born June 5, 1951, in Natchez, Mississippi and had lived in Jones County for most of his life. He was the son of the late Andy Thomas and Mary Friis. Mr. Thomas was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a board member of the Brosnan Yard Credit Union. He was a past president of the former Shurlington Ball League and cherished his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed tinkering with Volkswagens and was passionate about his tamper work with the railroad.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his daughter: Lindsey Thomas; son: Perry Thomas, Jr.; grandchildren: Leevi Kitchens (Ali), Garrett Kitchens, Cohen Barfield, Caroline Barfield and Payne Thomas; three siblings to include: Cheryl Rozier (Vic); and his companion: Catherine Newman and by many nieces and nephews.
Following in Glenn's legacy of helping families in need at Christmas, the family requests that contributions be sent to the Glenn Thomas Memorial Christmas Fund care of Brosnan Yard Credit Union, 223 Walnut Street, Suite #101, Macon, Georgia 31201 to be dispersed in our community.
