Obituary for Paulette Reeves (Smith)

Macon, Georgia: Paulette Smith Reeves passed away Saturday afternoon February 18, 2023, at Atrium Health Navicent surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. A service will be held at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church on Friday March 3, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with a visitation at 9:30 A.M.


Paulette was born on April 20, 1947, in McRae, Georgia to the late Marion Mallette Smith and Quinelle Hargrove Smith. A 1972 graduate of Mercer University, she retired as a school teacher and counselor from the Bibb County School System after thirty years of service. Paulette was the head cheerleader for Telfair County Basketball Team in 1965, the year she graduated.. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed walks, the outdoors, animals, especially her horse Bonanza. She and Joe enjoyed their international travel for many years. Paulette was a member of Mulberry United Methodist Church for forty years.

Preceded in death in addition to her parents, her brother Marion Smith.

Paulette is survived by her loving husband of fifty five years, Joseph Wiley Reeves, sons, Nate Reeves (Carolyn) and their children, Hannah Reeves, Ben, Sam and Nicolas Diaz, Jake Reeves (Kimberly), sister, Shelley Tomberlin (Reg), brother Neal Smith, many nieces and nephews cousin, Beth Golson (Waverly), and special friend Milton Lewis.
