Obituary for James Stephen Rouse

James Stephen Rouse, Sr., age 68, of 169 East Clinton Street in Gray passed away Friday, May 22nd, 2020 at his residence.

Jim was the son of the late Marvin Cecil Rouse Sr. and Mattie Florence Pearce Rouse Morse.
A graduate of Valdosta State University, he was the former Hospital Administrator of Frank Scott State Prison. Jim adored his wife Winnie, who he called his hero. He was also a devoted father to his four children and 6 grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, writing, and was an avid history enthusiast. Jim was a shining light and found his greatest joy in being a care taker and anticipating the needs of all those around him.

Survivors include Wife: Winona Rouse, Daughters: Leah (Michael) Carroll Gray Ga., Shelby (William) Roberts Gray, Ga., Sons: James Stephen Rouse Jr., Atlanta, Ga., and Hoke Rouse, Gray. Ga.,. Grandchildren: Peyton McDaniel, Addy Bennett, Austin McDaniel, Asher Carroll, Mason Roberts, Hudson Roberts. Sister: Jacquelyn (Jackie) Sangioulio, Adairsville, Ga., Brothers; Marvin Rouse, Acworth, Ga., Michael Rouse, Marietta, Ga., David Rouse, Naylor, Ga.

Jim was a life long donor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and its the wishes of the family that you honor Jim by making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his memory at 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN., 38105

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday May 26th, at Gray Memorial Chapel. A Graveside service will be Wednesday May 27th, at Cedar Ridge Cemetery at 3 P.M. with Sarah Ulm officiating.
