Obituary for Ida Jean Sanderfer Greene
JONES COUNTY: Ida Jean Sanderfer Greene, 77, of Harris Morton Road, died Thursday, October 1, 2020, at a local hospital. The family will greet friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm, Saturday, October 3, 2020, graveside at Greene Family Cemetery on Joe Miller Road in Jones County. Services will begin at 2:00pm with Dr. Ron McClung officiating.
Mrs. Greene was born April 9, 1943, in Columbus, Mississippi and had lived in Jones County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late John William Sanderfer, Sr. and Emma Virginia Strickland Sanderfer. Mrs. Greene was a longtime member of Haddock Baptist Church where she served as director of the preschool choir and sang in the adult choir. She was a retired dental hygienist for W. C. Shipp, DDS and was preceded in death by her husband: Bernard A. Greene, Sr.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Deborah Jean Weiner, Laura Maria and Joe Milholen and Marsha Lynn Greene Grant; son and daughter-in-law: Bernard Arthur, Jr. "Bart" and Stacey Greene; sister: Patricia Sanderfer Reinoso; seven grandchildren and by six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may made to the Haddock Baptist Church Music Department or the church children's fund, 180 Ethridge Road, Haddock, Georgia 31033.
