JONES COUNTY: George Larry Watts, 76, of Plantation Road, died Friday, May 1, 2020, at a local hospital. Private services will be held 3:00pm, Tuesday, May 5, 2020, graveside at Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Haney officiating.
Mr. Watts was born May 13, 1943, in Jones County to the late Alonza Lee Watts and Ruby Sapp Watts. He was a statistician and actuary for the City of Atlanta Board of Education as well as an adjunct mathematics instructor for Mercer University in Atlanta. Mr. Watts fanatically followed Georgia Tech and enjoyed country music. He was preceded in death by his wife: Lourdes Concepcion Watts and his brothers: Johnny Watts and Bobby Watts.
Mr. Watts is survived by his sisters-in-law: Mary Watts and Velma Watts; niece: Robin Watts; nephew: Alan Watts; his best friend: Eddie Altman and other cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church, 132 Pitts Chapel Road, Macon, Georgia 31217.
