Larry (to me--George, officially) Watts was a mountain of a man, a guy I truly respected and loved. I'd lost track of him in the last year or so and didn't know until now that he died earlier this year. May the good memories outweigh the pain of his loss for his sisters and others who cared about him. --Ed Buckner (worked with Larry in Atlanta for APS)

Larry and I worked closely together at the Atlanta Public Schools in the Research and Development Division for 3 and 1/2 years in the early 1970s. I left APS, got married and went to work with the Federal Government in Columbus, GA. While I lived in Columbus, Larry came to visit my wife, my son, Timothy, and me. For the past several years I always sent Larry a Christmas card at Ben Hill in Atlanta. This past Christmas the card was returned with a forwarding address saying the forwarding time had expired, but providing a forwarding address. I had intended to write Larry, but with my wife, Angela, being in the hospital and the pandemic, I am just now (8 June 2020) getting around to it. In verifying Larry's forwarding address, I came across his obituary. I am so saddened by this discovery. He was a good friend. I wish we could have gotten together one last time.
