Mrs. Fowler was born June 5, 1941, in Telfair County and had lived in Jones County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Chester Douglas and Eva Faye Powell Douglas. Mrs. Fowler loved her Lord and was a true minister of the Gospel, teaching Sunday School and Children's Church for many years at the Gray Church of God, where she was a founding and charter member. She was a respected former member of the Napier Avenue Church of God for many years. She shared the Gospel on a monthly basis for forty plus years at Lynn Haven and Gray (Autumn Lane) nursing homes. Additionally, she ministered to the sick at hospitals, spoke at funerals and comforted families who lost loved ones. She also worked many years at Bridges Funeral Home and Gray Memorial Chapel. She was most recently a part of the Christ Community Chapel family.

Mrs. Fowler was a retired life long cosmetologist and loved to collect all things "butterfly." She was affectionately known as "Gran" to both family and "adopted" family. She was devoted to her family becoming the matriarch of the Fowler Family after the death of her husband Clifton in 1989. She was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her. She was one of those rare people that not only talked the talk but truly walked the walk.

She is survived by her children: Penny Tello (Mike), Ginger Ward (Robert), Jeff Fowler (Sharyl), and Brad Fowler (Brandi); son-in-law: Larry Dumas; grandchildren: Brandon Dumas (Lisa), Adam Dumas (Alicia), Courtney Dumas, Miguel Tello (Tara), Joshua Tello (Jenney), Nicholas Tello (Janice), Chandler Tello (Nikki), Amber Briggs (Kevin), Tiffany Frazier (Daniel), Lauren Gochenaur (Daniel), Jeffrey Fowler (Alexis), Brooklin Fowler, Brent Fowler and Briley Fowler; great-grandchildren: Alecia, Kayla, Kristofer, Jase, Jackson, Jordan, Carmen, Mikaela, Julissa, Ezekiel, Belzabeth, Kevin, Rachel, Wyatt, Colton, Noah, Linkin, Peyton, River, Evan, Abi and Jasper; sisters: Joyce Ramsey, Jewell Sangster, Rosemary Hammack (Aubrey) and Opal Kitchens; brother: Gerald Douglas (Samantha); numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family members.
