Obituary for Cleo Burns Ethridge (Burns)

LAKE SINCLAIR: Cleo Burns Ethridge, 94, passed away, Thursday, April 29, 2021, at her residence. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, Monday, May 3, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Gray. A Celebration of her life will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Danny Lyles officiating.

Born to Henry Bun Burns and Ludie Thompson Burns on September 9, 1926, in Twiggs County. She attended Fort Hill Elementary School and Miller High School for girls. She worked at Hogg's and Powell's Pharmacy in Macon for over thirty years. She was a member of the Georgia Square Dance Association, Macon Garden Club, Red Hats Ladies, Sinclair Pilot Club, Ladies of Lake Sinclair, which made quilts for sick, abused and under privileged children. They were handmade quilts for project Linus, named after the "Peanuts" comic character. She was also an active bridge player with friends at Lake Sinclair. She was a member of the Lakeshore Community Church and a longtime fundraiser for the Twin Bridges Firefighters Association. She was also a member of the Senior Friends. Mrs. Ethridge was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years: Clyde V. Ethridge; sons: Wayne Brannon and Eddie Brannon; brother Ed Burns; sisters: Hattie Bell Lupo and Martha Melton; and a niece: Denise Etheridge.

Survivors include her son: Mike Ethridge (Robin); daughter-in-law: Jerrie Brannon; sister: Carrie Brown; sister-in-law: Shirlie Burns; grandchildren: James Brannon (Laura) and Shannon Pittman, Priscilla Daniel (Todd), Michael Ethridge (Carrie) and Jason Ethridge (Melissa); great-grandchildren: Gwyneth Brannon, Zackary Brannon, Megan Taylor, McKenzie Pittman, Addison Daniel, Tru Daniel; Sophie Kate Ethridge, Jorja Ann Ethridge, Trace Ethridge, Kyle Taylor, Kaleb Taylor, Henry Ethridge and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcome, however, donations may be made to Lakeshore Community Church, 822 Twin Bridges Road, Eatonton, Georgia 31024.
