Obituary for Calvin Wayne Miller Sr.
Gray: Calvin Wayne Miller, Sr., 69, of Cyler Road, died Sunday, September 13, 2020. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesday, at Gray Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, September 16, 2020, graveside at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Jones County. Rev. Eddie Windham and Deacon Scott Hudson will officiate. Masks will be required for attendance to visitation and services.
Mr. Miller was born June 10, 1951, in Douglas and had lived in Gray for the past nine years. He was the son of the late Henry Milton Miller and Lois Rhoden Miller. Mr. Miller was a devout christian and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church where he served as an elder and taught Sunday school. He was a boilermaker by trade for the Boilermaker's Union, Local #26 of Savannah. He was preceded in death by a brother: Framan "Frog" Miller.
Mr. Miller is survived by his sons: Calvin Wayne Miller, Jr. (Emily) and Kevin Mathew Miller, Kartley Morris (JoAnna); daughter: Cassy Marie Miller; grandchildren: Avery Miller, Mary Evelyn Miller, Kullen Morris, Madison Morris and Willow Morris; brother: Henry Milton Miller, Jr. (Penny) and a nephew: Chris Miller.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Miller asked that contributions be made to New Salem Baptist Church, 183 Salem Church-Miller Road, Gray, Georgia 31032 or to Heartland Hospice of Augusta, 153 Davis Road, Augusta, Georgia 30907.
