Obituary for Bernice Scott Groves (Kennedy)

Bernice Kennedy Groves, 98, of Haddock passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at a local nursing home. Memorial services will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Gray Memorial Chapel in Gray.

Mrs. Groves was born August 20, 1923 in Portland, Oregon. She had lived in middle Georgia for the past sixty years. She was the daughter of the late Claire Alvin Kennedy and Florence Augusta LeBaron. Mrs. Groves was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years: Herbert M. Groves; and her brother Claire Kennedy.

Mrs. Groves was an accomplished seamstress and woodworker. She was also avid in arts and crafts and loved to draw and paint. She loved to watch the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR races and was a lifelong Harley-Davidson enthusiast.

Mrs. Groves is survived by her sons: Mike Groves (Betty) of Haddock and John Groves (Debbie) of Bolingbroke; grandsons Shane Groves (Greer) of Haddock, Scott Groves of Haddock, Alfred Eller (Rachel) of Antioch Tennessee and Adam Eller of Bolingbroke; four great-grandchildren, Garren Groves, Gunner Groves, Kingston Eller, Beckett Eller; sister Crystal Langbehn (Russ) of Lakeview Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews.
