Obituary for Andrew Todd "Andy" McKenzie

Andrew Todd McKenzie passed away Monday, January 03, 2022, at his residence, surrounded by his family and friends, who he loved dearly. The family will greet friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, Friday, January 7, 2022, at Gray Memorial Chapel in Gray, GA. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel with Rev. Tammy Humphries officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Gray, GA immediately following the service.

Andy was born on February 13, 1975, in Macon, GA and moved to Gray, GA in 1986 with his family where he was raised. He graduated from Mt. De Sales Academy in Macon, GA in 1993 and attended Macon State College. He had a successful career with Rentokill North America, formally Allgood Pest Control Services, from November 2009 until his retirement in July 2020. He was afforded many opportunities and touched many people’s lives during that time and is missed by his team and second family at Allgood. He held the position of specialist, sales manager and Operation’s Manager.

He loved his entire family; he was always a Father first and was involved in his son’s activities and interests. He along with his wife, Jeannie Jackson McKenzie and his son, Jackson Andrew McKenzie attended and was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church; after transferring his letter of membership from Shurlington United Methodist Church, in 2009 where he served on the Board of Trustees.

He had remarkable relationships and spent countless hours with his family and many lifelong friends. He loved spending time with his grandparents, parents, brother and his brother’s family and his aunt’s, uncle’s and several cousins. He was an avid University of Georgia football fan and spent many Saturdays in Athens, GA with his uncle, Don McClure. Andy was an incredibly loving and loyal father, husband, son, brother and friend. He was always willing to help others and often went out of his way to do make sure his family and their needs were taken care of. He was extremely talented and enjoyed working on anything mechanical and loved working on different projects with friends and family. He loved the lake, where he enjoyed fishing and boating. He was blessed to be able to remain at home with his family during his long and hard-fought battle with Colon Cancer after being diagnosed in January 2019.

Andy is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Jeannie Jackson McKenzie; son, Jackson Andrew McKenzie; parents, Terrell Douglas, Sr. and Margie McClure McKenzie; brother, Terrell Douglas McKenzie, Jr. (Amanda); nephews, Matthew Douglas McKenzie (Erin) and Wesley Andrew McKenzie.
